news and updates

Hello Everyone,
I'm Laura one of the infamous or should I say anonymous mob. I'll just give you a quick run down on where we're at at this point in time and where we're coming from. Melbourne was great, we were blessed with astounding local actors who took their characters on and added so much depth to the play.

All us Perth mob are well versed and used to our characters and so the play was stronger in Melbourne than it has ever been. The local crew in Melbourne were great, we were welcomed into Irene the most fantastic, massive wharehouse, community space I've ever seen, situated in Brunswick we found ourselves comfortably at home in the heart of Melbourne.

On arrival to Melbourne most of us were exhausted from our nonstop exploration of the Adelaide culture, but the few nights we'd spent in the hills before we left meant that most of us were tired but chilled. Our premier performance in Melbs was at the Brunswick St Festival. There was loads going on and we still managed to attract a large crowd most of whom took the time to sit down and watch the whole show.

Our second performance happened outside the offices of Rio Tinto on Collins St in Melbourne City. This show was spontaneous, FOE helped with liason and all went very smoothly. We completed the entire play without any interruptions and much to our delight had a decent sized crowd of well dressed city workers standing around smiling and laughing and enjoying the playÊduring their lunch breaks.

Infact they were one of the best crowds we've ever had. Other shows in Melbs were at the Future Rescue Forest info sharing and workshp weekend. It felt so great to perform infront of friends and fellow activists but for some extraordinary reason most of our nerves were jumping about before we went on. Future Rescue itself went very smoothly, it's a great oppurtunity to network and share skills, as well as take a break from busy Melbourne whilst kikin back in the beautiful forests if the Central Highlands (only one hour out of Smelbs - If you don't get lost-).

The two other shows we performed in Melbs were at the Footsgray community centre, weÊhad a small but intimate crowd and the spaceÊitself was beautiful and at RMIT university where once again we managed to distract some uni crew with our rockin beats, funny impersonations and freaky facts.

TheÊtour is going great. WeÊpicked up John in Adelaide, Scottie, Dillan and Possum in Melbourne, Helen in Brisie, Pippin is on his way over fromÊPerth very shortly and apparentlyÊTimÊwill be arriving any day.ÊÊAll in all thats 15 of us heading down to Sydney inÊthree vans. Group logistic are working incredibely well,ÊI am personally continually inspired by these amazing people I have the luck to be travelling with and getting to know more and more everyday.

LOVING THIS WARM BRISIE WEATHER.
